Ivana Gadjanski

Neuroscientist (PhD in Neuroscience from Georg-August University and Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Goettingen, Germany. Postdoctorate specialization at Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich, Germany) turned bioengineer (Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, USA, Lab for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering (Head: Gordana Vunjak Novakovic). Senior researcher and Senior scientific consultant at BioSense Institute, University of Novi Sad.

Published 2 books of poetry in Serbian, “Demoni” (“Demons”) and “Klinasto pismo” (“Cuneiform script”). Received the “Strazilovo” award at the literary manifestation “Brankovo kolo” in Sremski Karlovci 2008, for “Klinasto pismo”. Serbian-English poetry book – in preparation.

Interested in biotech, medtech & edutech start-ups and promotion of female entrepreneurship in bioscience. Believer in multidisciplinary approach in research, combining science, art and business.

Founder of Fab Initiative – non-profit established for achieving objectives in the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) field in South East Europe and establishing fab lab network in South East Europe. Two main projects of Fab Initiative were founding the Fab lab Petnica in Petnica Science Center and organization of FABelgrade2016 and on-going organization of FABelgrade2018 convention.
